Outdoorsy Girl
Since the weather has been so awesome lately (a cool 75 degrees), we enjoyed the outdoors a good bit this weekend. On Friday, we went to the concert in the park at Mayfaire again and met up with the usual rockstars: Aunt Witter, Amanda and Derek and munchkins, and Tammy and Rich and kiddos. We also had new guests -- my college roommate, Jordan, and her husband, Tony, who just moved back to Wilmington (YAY!). The music was good and the food was plenty (as you can see from Taylor’s larger than life sandwich).

On Saturday, Jimmy’s Dad came into town for a much-deserved beach getaway. He’s in town to relax, enjoy his family, and fish...a lot. So, we headed to our community lake on Saturday evening and did just that. Taylor fished for the first time with Daddy and with Papaw. Can we say "daddy's girl"?

And, when she grew tired of the patience required for fishing, we went turtle watching at the dock. This time, it was G-rated.

And, I captured some of the turtle excitement on video.
On Sunday, we spent a relaxing afternoon at home. The major news for the day was that Taylor has transitioned to a big girl table for meals. I know, call the media. It's big news though, really! Here she is at her new table eating a Sunday breakfast of champions -- plain waffles and milk. Now if we can just teach her to stay seated for more than 5 minutes so I don’t have to clean waffles off of the walls, couch and windows. Baby steps though, right? All in all, it was a fun weekend for The Bradys. Good music, great friends, huge sandwiches, first-time fishing, clean turtle watching, and a small step towards big-kidhood!
