Thanksgiving, Take 1

Yesterday was a very thankful day. My favorite time of year is the holidays, for many reasons. One of those reasons…is the food. I love love love all of the tasty sides that go with our holiday meals – the stuffing (made without any strange animal insides, thank-you-very-much), the cranberry sauce, sweet buttery rolls, the green bean casserole, and did I mention THE YAMS?!!! I looooove some yams topped with butter, brown sugar and an entire bag of mini-marshmallows. SO good, and so good for you. So, imagine my delight when I woke yesterday…we had two Thanksgiving meals planned for the day!

For lunch, we went to Taylor’s school for a big turkey meal with all of her tiny classmates and their parents. Taylor loved the cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes and the dessert. Just like her Mamma, she gobbled up all of the sides and sweets, but was not a big fan of the bird.
(Notice, TEW milks.)

Taylor laughs at her boyfriend, Tyler, as he shows her how to enjoy every single drop of frosting.

The meal took a romantic turn when Tay and Tyler enjoyed their cupcakes, wedding-style.

And then, for dinner, we went over to a friend’s house for a super-yummy turkey dinner with fun, old friends. After stuffing ourselves with way too much food, we all gathered round the fire and sang Christmas carols. Well, actually, we gathered round the DVD of a fire (so 2008) and then watched a tape of our college Greek talent show (so AGD). If you know me and my friends, you know how proud we are of our streak of winning 1st place at talent shows. It's always nice to reminisce by watching our younger bodies dance like maniacs, then celebrate like we had won the Olympics.
On the way out, Tay and Hana high-five eachother. (They were stuck in the back of the house with the Daddies while the Mommies and their girlfriends enjoyed adult time.)

We had an awesome time yesterday. It was cool to watch Taylor enjoy her first Thanksgiving (where she could eat more than pureed potatoes), and it was awesome, as always, to spend time with old friends. We have so much to be thankful for!

I love the pictures from daycare!! I was sad that we couldn't have lunch together with our munchkins...but at least Taylor ate her food. Edwin was so happy to see Mommy & Daddy that he ate about 5 bites of mashed potatoes and spent the rest of the time running around laughing! (By the way, his teachers said usually when the food arrives, he's the first one at the table). Glad you guys had fun!!
